Lebron James and I have something in common. We both hit a milestone equaling 40,000 in the same week. James achieved a first in the NBA by scoring his 40,000th career NBA Point while yours truly achieved 40K downloads as a podcast host on Spreaker!
Benchmarks and milestones fire us up to reach that next plateau, don’t they? Personally I am ready to hit 50K downloads right now, but it will take some time. For James, this accomplishment is a bright spot in a Lakers season that sees them fighting for a play-in spot to the NBA playoffs. Yet, he is the type of athlete that would want a ring over becoming the highest points scorer ever in the NBA. And you have to respect that!
What I feel is intriguing about us both hitting 40,000 in the same week is, it means we both are working hard at our craft. He practices and rigorously fights for every basket in game, I aim to book some intriguing guests each and every day and come up with content listeners might actually want to hear.
It is true off mic, my personality and character can be the oddest bird possible but then turn that microphone on and I’d like to think some common sense resonates with you the listener. For LeBron, his character is always questioned on the court when he begs for a call to go his way or maybe even flops. His character is certainly critiqued off the court even by yours truly sometimes , but his athleticism and drive when he plays the game he loves cannot ever be questioned!
At the end of the day, whether on the court or in the studio , these crafts are a grind and take time! Yet to take a step back not just to make the three but to just soak in reaching 40,000 , gives perspective on how far careers have grown and can continue to grow.
Remember the ball is in all of our courts to make these accomplishments possible!!
