PSEG-Long Island Brings Electricity To Our Homes While EmPOWERING Our Communities!

By Alex Garrett 8-8-25

June 2nd , 2025 brought on a connection with PSEG-LI, where they proudly partnered with the United Ostomy Association of America ! At that dinner , hosted by Anthony Giordano and UOAA executive Director Christine Ryan , PSEG-LI donated $500 as a show of commitment to the community! UOAA represents 1 MILLION people with an ostomy, by the way!

They were able to make this commitment through a volunteer group of PSEG-Long Island employees called ABLE EBRG. According to spokesperson Amy Di Leo , ABLE-ERG “is a volunteer group of employees who advocate for and support differently abled community organizations and people.” ABLE EBRG, which supports the adaptive community is run by John Cassano and Orlando Molinares as well as Donna Puglise !

I also found out that the electric company that powers Long Island also EMPOWERS the Viscardi Center since 2018! When I was hearing about this, I immediately wanted to align myself with their mission and welcome them to my podcast One Leg Up with Alex Garrett (https://www.spreaker.com/episode/onelegupalex-visits-with-pseg-li-as-they-partner-with-the-viscardi-center-on-8-12-25-recorded-8-5-25–67279495) !

Beyond events like this upcoming Tuesday’s wheelchair basketball tournament at Viscardi, PSEG-LI’s ABLE EBRG has been a continual supporter of the Viscardi Center since becoming the main supplier of Long Island electric and power! They have also supported the Nassau County Games for the Physically Challenged . Donating $10,000 a year to the Games is so special to hear and report on because they are supporting an event close to my heart since the age of 5!

In my interview John mentioned and touted the partnerships forged between PSEG-LI and the Islanders as well as the Long Island Ducks! THAT IS HOW IN THE COMMUNITY THIS COMPANY IS!

PSEGLI also empowers the disabled community to work for them! On their website they add ‘If you have a disability and need assistance submitting your resume, applying for a position or registering for a test, (send an email to) accommodations@pseg.com’ . So if you need work and are willing to, PSEGLI will bring you on board!

The other way PSEG- Long Island empowers the community is by answering calls regarding power line issues and electricity issues FASTER than its predecessor! According to their website, ‘After you’ve reported an outage, our system generates an ETR based on historical data collected from past outages. Usually, these estimates range between two to eight hours. ‘ COMPARE HOURS TO DAYS, it truly has been night and day since PSEG-LI took over Long Island’s electricity! I’m very honored to welcome PSEG Long Island to my podcast to share the good news they bring to the community because they truly are having ONE LEG UP FOR LONG ISLAND!
