As I was suspecting, St. Patrick’s Cathedral Cardinal Timothy Dolan did not vote for himself at the Conclave but rather voted to make history at the Vatican!
Reports have been coming out of Rome that Cardinal Dolan , who is 75 by the way, was a Kingmaker or in this case a PopeMaker among the other 132 Cardinals. This doesn’t surprise me, if you ever spent at least one minute with Cardinal Dolan, his personality shines off mic as it does when he’s talking to the microphone . I’m sure he made his way through the Conclave campaigning for Cardinal Prevost because he is that talkative!
I’ve even said he should throw the first pitch out when Cubs to town but it’s more sensible for him to throw out the first pitch when the WHITE SOX come to town!
My dad and I first met the Cardinal at Yankees Opening day in 2009 and from then on we knew he would be not just the Cardinal , but the People’s Cardinal!
If you can believe it, at a PAL event with John Catsimatidis in 2022, Cardinal Dolan asked Margo Catsimatidis how my dad was . I was honored he remembered my dad but not surprised because he IS that caring.
Back to 2025, I could tell this whole process would mean a lot when Cardinal Dolan held a mass in honor of Pope Francis! Then, about a week or two later, NYC had the distinct honor of being one of 9 American Cities represented at the Conclave and I believe Dolan represented us perfectly! In the bigger picture, we should be proud as a collective in NYC that we played a role in electing Pope Leo XIV through our esteemed Cardinal!
Politics and X reposts aside, it’s pretty amazing how such a sacred rite to become elected the Pope became a celebration! I’m also impressed Pope Leo XIV can speak 4 languages and has been so studied in the Word! He brings his missionary background to the Vatican and I believe that means he brings his MISSION to the Papacy and that’s so important! We need a unity in faith and God and I have hope in the Pope and I hope you do too!

The hope is to welcome Dolan to the podcast side of this media conglomerate but for now, please listen to my entire thoughts on how America now has One Leg Up at the Vatican! (https://www.spreaker.com/episode/an-american-has-one-leg-up-at-the-vatican-5-8-25–66008578)
