The DaBoll Era Needs Another Year To Help Giants Rise From the Ashes

So, it is true the current GM of the New York (Football ) Giants, Joe Schoen , was the one that oversaw the signing of Daniel Jones to a 4 year, $160 Million deal. It is true Schoen was part of the decision making to not sign Saquon Barkley. It’s all true both decisions have completely imploded in one weekend of the NFL. Yet, I just see the developments of this past week as well as Barkley making NFL history tonight on the Eagles as a signal that the Dave Gettleman era has officially crashed and burned. That could be a good thing.
How incredibly fitting is it the draft pick Gettleman is responsible for six years ago in Daniel Jones has been released at Jones request. How fitting is it Gettleman’s other major draft pick known as Saquon Barkley is thriving in Philly with an actual front line! Gettleman saddled this team with a QB and RB that has talent but has had no protections around them in their Giants eras!
Now it’s time for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll’s #DabollDynamic to be given another year after they cleaned house of Jones and Barkley and that stench of poor GM work by Gettleman. Yes, John Mara, no matter what the media feeds you and tells you, I would not fire the Schoen/DaBoll era just yet. Give them a chance to work with fresh personnel.
This year’s draft pick under Joe Schoen, Malik Nabers, is truly the breath of fresh air and can have this franchise’s offense built around him. Kayvon Thibideaux on the defensive side of the ball has also been a successful draft pick for Joe Schoen . Yea, I think Schoen knows what the F he is doing! I also will say I think he will have learned from that disastrous Jones deal moving forward (or at least I hope so.)
DaBoll may frustrate fans at times but with competency at the QB position , we saw a glimpse in 2022 of what he can do. Yes, that postseason run was led by Danny Dimes, and I think Daboll felt more confidence that first year working with Jones than he has had the last few years.
Give DaBoll a QB that can mix a solid short game and long yardage game along with as quick feet as Jones has and I think this team can get on track over the next couple of years. It seemed when they tried to have Jones throw for big yards , that ball just sailed. They never tailored the playbook to the successful short game Jones has, which means that Jones and the DaBoll playbook just would never work!
In addition, Schoen and DaBoll also have a futuristic feel at running back known as Tyrone Tracy, Jr. and I see Tracy making an impact in a Big Blue uniform for years to come! The signing of Tracy by Schoen and the usage of Tracy by DaBoll is an epitome of how successful the DaBoll Dynamic could be!
