2023 as you have seen on this page and in the world has been trying, yet , instead of getting in the dumps of loss , we must as a world look to forge ahead this Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa season.
Did you know 32 years ago, my mom had just gotten to hold me for the very first time in front of the NICU Christmas tree ? I was days into the NICU at that point! 32 years ago, my dad and mom had to keep balancing life and my NICU stint, but they forged ahead with their lives believing in God and in the strength my little body had to survive as a NICU baby.
That uplifts me to carry on at a moment when I’m honestly terrified of who could go next.
However, in the now, we have Israeli hostages to get released , we have to pray Israel defeats Hamas as well! We have mouths to feed, coats to donate and so much more to do this Christmas season. We also still have the Big Apple to save. This holiday season, we have to work hard, love each other harder and trust God will put everything into place. The Son of the Father, Jesus Christ’s birth is being honored this month, God Bless It! That should motivate us to work together, work hard in honor of those who have gone before us and personally, not worry about loss that lies ahead. Remember, Christ healed in the NOW.
Maybe you feel that anxiety , but as The Word says, ‘Be Anxious For Nothing’! As I sit here and write, I know that my dad, my grandmother, my friends and classmates: Max, Michelle, Hilary, Scotty Pollock and so many others are with us in the spirit of the Christmas season. Specifically, their spirit of always going and making the best of life!
We too must forge ahead as God continues to give us the day to make it right for the world and within our own lives, while being present amongst our loved ones and colleagues.
As radio friend Scott Wilder always says at this time of year , ‘being present is the best present at Christmas’. Be present with those around you as we forge ahead this Christmas Season!
I miss you Papa and know you are with us during this time!
