So there he was, Senator Mitch McConnell actually slurring his words before freezing up completely. I can only imagine while we have only seen this twice in public, he probably has to be brought back to consciousness by his own staffers behind the scenes more than they let on.
The freezing up of Senate Minority Leader McConnell , the seemingly rambling moments of President Biden and the hospitalization of Dianne Feinstein is disturbing to say the least. But, you know what is more disturbing ? The aides and the staffers and the yes people that never are in these elderly politicians ‘ ears telling them it’s time to resign. Yes, I said it, IT IS TIME TO RESIGN!
As much as we seem to have this affinity for the political old guard, that old guard is now literally frozen in time. I can understand why we want the Old Guard, because those that come after the Trumps, Bidens, McConnells and the like don’t seem ready.

AOC is young but she spouts very nonsensical things when the camera is in front of her or when she feels need to tweet something. You could say the 2024 election should feature DeSantis vs. Newsom, but both approaches to COVID should also scare any American. DeSantis was too laxed and carefree when it came to Floridians health and Newsom was too tight-fisted while being unmasked and indoor dining . Those two don’t seem ready for being the next leaders of their respective parties either.
So if the four examples I lay out above are not ready, are we stuck with the Old Guard? That freezes up or falls or could even be found guilty of election interference? I don’t believe we are stuck , I just believe those around the Old Guard need to have the guts to say step aside. If they don’t, maybe we the voters have to! Aren’t we fed up with these moments and it sickens me that elderly politicians have no one telling them to pack it in!
We the voters could be the key to unlock those next in line , and maybe we just brace ourselves for that change and be ready for a much-needed CHANGING OF THE GUARD!
